Access Hire
NZ Access Hire is a division of NZ Crane Group that specialises in self-propelled elevating work platforms.
Our equipment provides a safe environment when working at height in a wide range of applications and industries:
- General construction.
- Major plant shutdowns.
- Electrical and services maintenance.
- Film sets.
- Demolition.
- Air conditioning removal and installation.
- Sign erection.
- Structural steel placement.
- Roofing.
- Aerial filming and photography.
Safety, reliability and efficiency is a priority to us, hence our investment in equipment by the world’s leading producer of aerial work platforms – GENIE INDUSTRIES.
As a result of this sizable and ongoing investment our fleet is at the forefront of safety driven technology and a wide range of slab scissors, stick booms and all the latest equipment is available throughout our national branch network.
GENIE’S model numbers are all relate to the platform heights on feet, followed by either the horizontal reach in feet or the platform length in inches for the scissors, (e.g. S65 is 65 feet high, Z45/25 means 45’up 25’ outreach. GS 3268 goes up 32’ and has an extended deck size of 68”). Actual working heights are based on the platform height plus 6 feet.

Thank you all very much for the service provided by NZ Crane Group during our recent 73k Outage. At times the site looked like an extension of NZ Crane’s yard with two cranes, an Alimak Lift and three Boom Lifts on site.
The 50 Tonne RT Crane with luffing fly proved to be ideally suited to the job requirements, especially when lifting the boiler headers in and out of the HRSG. The two crane operators, Jamie and Glenn, were both extremely skilful and competent in the use of the crane and worked in well with the riggers. This made for safe and worry free lifts on the site. Nothing was a problem to either of them and both worked some long days especially during the Header Replacement Project. Please pass on our thanks to Jamie and Glenn for their fine work during the 73k Outage and subsequent demobilization. We will look at repeating the exercise of having a crane on site permanently during the next major outage. The Alimak Lift proved very successful and increased productivity by huge amounts. We will be looking to hire one again for the next major outage in 3 years. Thank you once again for your service.Contact Energy
